The future criminologist should not leave the university knowing only how to conduct a Therapeutic Community program. The future criminologist should know how to assess risk, identify criminogenic needs, select an appropriate intervention, implement it with fidelity, measure its results, and change course when the evidence says it is not working. That is the difference between merely administering programs and practicing effective corrections.
