October 20-26, 2025 marked the celebration of the 38th Prison Awareness Week with the theme “Our Merciful God Proclaims Hope for Us Sinners and Restores the Dignity of Persons Deprived of Liberty!” This annual observance reminds the faithful of our shared mission to bring compassion, hope, and restoration to those in detention, our brothers and sisters whom the Lord Himself identified with.

Plan 2040, the BANDILA Program exemplifies the Bureau’s commitment to humane care, restorative justice, and the reintegration of PDL into the fabric of our communities. Through partnerships like this, freedom becomes more than release—it becomes transformation.

With hearts full and spirits renewed, the participants of PRESO, Inc.’s Bukas Loob Tungo sa Bagong Pag-asa project gathered once more at the Centro Divino Pastoral Building of the Parish of the Lord of Divine Mercy—for what would be the culminating session of their five-part reintegration journey.

PRESO, Inc. proudly took part in the 11th Pantalastasan: An International Academic Seminar held on July 9, 2025, at the National College of Public Administration and Governance (NCPAG), University of the Philippines Diliman, Quezon City.

It was here, at the very heart of incarceration’s shadow, that released PDLs found themselves once again gathered—not behind bars, but before new beginnings.

The journey of transformation continues for the participants of PRESO, Inc.’s flagship reintegration program, "Bukas Loob Tungo sa Bagong Pag-asa".

The partnership aims to empower law students and faculty members of SLU in identifying, assessing, and assisting qualified PDLs who may be released on bail under the CBB Program. PRESO, Inc. will provide capacity-building, risk assessment, and technical support, while SLU will handle field implementation and post-release monitoring.

With continued support from the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) Foundation, PRESO, Inc. remains steadfast in its mission to champion justice not just in courtrooms or jails, but in communities—one person, one session, one transformed life at a time.

The event highlighted the growing need for comprehensive support systems that extend beyond detention, emphasizing legal aid, psycho-social support, and post-release interventions. PRESO, Inc.'s participation reinforced its commitment to supporting faith-based initiatives and building stronger partnerships that uphold restorative justice and the dignity of every person behind bars.

With heavy hearts, we at PRESO, Inc. mourn the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Bro. Bong, who returned to his Creator earlier today.
