Quezon City, June 25, 2025 — The journey of transformation continues for the participants of PRESO, Inc.’s flagship reintegration program, "Bukas Loob Tungo sa Bagong Pag-asa". Building on the financial mindset foundations laid in the previous session, this gathering focused on translating renewed perspectives into tangible, income-generating plans.

The session opened with PRESO, Inc. Supervising Program Officer Derek Santos revisiting key points from Session 2, expanding on the topic “Bagong Pananaw sa Pananalapi.” More than just managing finances, Santos challenged participants to view money as a tool for reclaiming dignity, restoring relationships, and shaping a sustainable life post-incarceration. He stressed the importance of discipline, long-term thinking, and gratitude as essential pillars of personal and financial rebuilding.
An inspirational talk was then given by Fr. Ricky Montañez, Parish Priest and RJM Priest Coordinator who highlighted the importance of second chances.
The day’s guest speaker, Mr. Carlo Capacillo, a JCI Manila leader and entrepreneur, brought real-life inspiration to the room. Sharing powerful stories of his work with Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) and his own entrepreneurial journey, Capacillo led a hands-on workshop that helped participants begin designing small-scale business ideas rooted in their passions and strengths. As one participant remarked, “He showed us that we don’t need to wait for the perfect moment—what we have now is enough to start again.” With practical guidance and renewed hope, the participants left not only with ideas but with the belief that reintegration can also mean becoming job creators in their own right.
